Calligraphy for Change

As a mother of a two year old and an artist running a very small studio, I am not always as active in my community as I would like to be.  In thinking about how I can affect positive change from my small corner of the world, I realized, I can make art! I can donate my time and the proceeds! So I set about thinking what that would be. For many of us, hearing the phrase "Nevertheless she persisted," became a rallying cry. When I heard it, I thought, "Hell, yes!!" Even if you are not politically minded, I think it reminds us of the fierceness that each of us can embody when standing up for their truly held beliefs.

In that spirit, I designed this simple brush-type image and had it foil stamped with a light-catching holographic foil (see images below for the color-changing magic). ALL proceeds from the sale of the print will be donated to the ACLU. This is a limited run of 100 prints. Order here.

Why donate to the ACLU? Well, they have fought, and continue to fight for civil rights and civil liberties for almost 100 years. I believe that their mission of fighting and protecting our rights is more important than ever.

Prints are $15 each and the shipping is free. They are 8.5 x 11 inches on Colorplan Ebony 130# card stock. They will be shipped flat in a hard mailer.
